Big Brother Season 26 - Episode 17 - Power of Veto

Recommended Posts

The Big Brother house was left reeling from the eviction of Cedric Hodges. His departure sent shock waves through the remaining Houseguests, particularly among the members of his alliance, The Pentagon. Cam, Chelsie, and Brooklyn found themselves in a precarious position, as their votes to keep Cedric marked them as potential targets.

Meanwhile, the Fish Tanks alliance saw an opportunity to expand their power and welcomed Joseph into their fold. The alliance, now known as Sixth Avenue, solidified its position within the house.

Tucker, the newly crowned Head of Household, assessed the situation, and after one-on-one conversations with the remaining Houseguests, he decided to nominate Quinn, Cam, and Brooklyn for eviction. The stage was set for a dramatic Power of Veto competition, as the fate of these Houseguests hung in the balance.

Eager to make a statement, Tucker's nominations were a calculated move to let the house think Quinn was his target. However, Tucker's true intentions were to eliminate Brooklyn, whom he saw as the ringleader of the other side.

To ensure his plan succeeded, Tucker confided in Cam and Brooklyn, assuring them that he had placed them on the block to eliminate Quinn. This deception was designed to lull them into a false sense of security, allowing Tucker to focus his efforts on eliminating Brooklyn without raising suspicion. He told Quinn that he wasn't a target, but Quinn was skeptical of Tucker's true intentions.

Chelsie breathed a sigh of relief having narrowly escaped nomination. However, she was acutely aware of the precarious position her fellow Pentagon members were in. With the alliance under threat, Chelsie knew that her safety was far from guaranteed.

Tucker was actually unaware of The Pentagon's existence and remained focused on his own single-minded goals. Kimo, sensing an opportunity, decided to reveal the truth about The Pentagon. This information solidified Tucker's resolve to target Brooklyn, as he saw her as a key player within the alliance.

Quinn and Brooklyn, realizing the gravity of the situation, engaged in a private conversation to discuss Tucker's intentions. They were not surprised by his inconsistent narratives, recognizing his manipulative tactics in fishing for information.

As one of the first to be eliminated from the Head of Household competition, Angela found herself facing the consequences: a week of slop meals. This unexpected turn of events left her feeling isolated, disheartened, and deprived.

In a gesture of solidarity, Brooklyn and a few other Houseguests decided to create a charcuterie board using the meats and cheeses Angela had won as HoH before they went bad. However, Angela was upset they had done this without her knowledge. The loss of her favorite foods, coupled with a feeling of being overlooked, added another layer of emotional distress to her already challenging experience.

As the Veto competition loomed, Tucker strategically selected Makensy and himself to participate. Tucker chose Joseph to compete in his place. Brooklyn, sensing danger, approached Tucker with a piece of crucial information. She revealed that Quinn had confided in her, admitting that she was the true target. She hoped to sow discord and potentially divert Tucker's attention away from her.

While Tucker acknowledged that Brooklyn's information made him trust Quinn less, he wasn't swayed from his original plan. Recognizing Brooklyn's tendency to prioritize her own survival, and her willingness to sacrifice her allies, Tucker was further convinced she was a cutthroat threat.

For the Veto competition, the Houseguests faced the classic Hide & Go Veto competition in which each player was tasked with concealing their Veto Memory Card in a secret location within the house, hoping to avoid discovery. The challenge was heightened by the similar appearance of each player's cards, making it difficult to distinguish between them.

Joseph chose a seemingly obvious hiding spot: Angela's bag on one of the beds. His plan was to avoid winning the Veto. Brooklyn wrapped her card in a towel and hid it in Quinn's dirty laundry bag. Tucker hid his Veto Memory Card under the glides of an empty drawer. Quinn, under pressure of time, hastily concealed his card in a garment bag. Cam chose what he hoped would be an unexpected hiding spot: a "really firm pillow." Makensy hid her card at the bottom of a planter by the front door.

The Houseguests scoured the house, their eyes darting from room to room in search of the hidden Veto Memory Cards. Quinn, in a stroke of luck, discovered Brooklyn's card concealed within his dirty laundry bag, eliminating her from the competition and leaving her stunned and frustrated. Cam, eventually stumbled upon Quinn's card hidden in the garment bag, eliminating him from the competition.

Tucker began his search at the planters and quickly located Makensy's card, taking her out of the game. Brooklyn, still reeling from her elimination, decided to take her frustrations out on her Housemates. She rummaged through Tucker and T'kor's closets, scattering their belongings in a fit of anger. In the midst of this chaos, she stumbled upon Cam's card, eliminating him from the competition. With the House in disarray and time running out, Cam searched frantically for one of the two remaining Veto Memory Cards, finding Joseph's card.

As the literal dust settled after the intense competition, the Houseguests slowly learned their fate. Brooklyn and Quinn were the first to discover they had failed to pull themselves off the block. The reveal of the final card came as a shock, yet no surprise, to the rest of the house.

Chelsie, with a knowing smile, announced that Cam had stumbled upon Joseph's card, securing his victory. Tucker, once again, had emerged triumphant, cementing his reputation as a comp beast.

As the Houseguests returned inside, they were greeted with a scene of chaos. Their belongings had been scattered throughout the house, a clear act of sabotage. Tucker and Angela were particularly incensed, expressing their frustration at the petty behavior of their fellow Houseguests.

Tucker, suspecting Quinn's involvement, resuumed his desire to target him for eviction. Despite Quinn's denial, Tucker remained unconvinced, believing that Quinn was responsible for the mess. The incident further fueled the tension between the two, setting the stage for a potential confrontation.

Brooklyn sought to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the chaos in the house. She understood that Tucker's anger towards Quinn could be exploited to her advantage, and reinforced Tucker's belief that Quinn was responsible for the mess, hoping to divert Tucker's attention away from her.

Quinn, realizing the gravity of the situation, decided to take a different approach. He opted for "radical honesty," confessing to Tucker the details of his conversations with Brooklyn about Tucker, that he had always planned to eventually flip on The Collective, and again claimed to not be responsible for the mess in the House. This act of transparency, while risky, ultimately paid off. Tucker was impressed by Quinn's honesty and began to reconsider his previous assumptions.

The Veto Meeting was a tense affair, as the Houseguests gathered to see what Tucker would do. In announcing his decision, Tucker revealed that he knew all about The Collective and The Pentagon, and the efforts to get him out of the House. He named Brooklyn and Chelsie as the ring leaders as he used the Veto to save Quinn and put Chelsie on the block.

Tucker believed his move poisoned the well of any opposition in his way, and nobody is going to trust anyone. Quinn was grateful to have been saved but promised to still go after Tucker at the first possible opportunity. Cam said everyone's game had been blown up and everything had been reset. Brooklyn knew it was Quinn who had exposed everything to Tucker.

Brooklyn, Cam, or Chelsie will face off in live in the AI Arena Battle, taking themselves off the chopping block, and leaving the other two to face eviction.
