After the Veto meeting, tensions rise as Angela confirms her target is now Matt, whom she refers to as "Crazy Eyes." Matt is bewildered by Angela's animosity towards him and pledges to go after her if he wins HOH next week. He hopes this promise will rally votes in his favor.

 

In the backyard, Matt and Kenney focus on winning the upcoming A.I. Arena competition to avoid being on the block together. Kenney, however, appears disinterested and mentions he would be content watching the show from home, frustrating his fellow houseguests who see his lack of effort as a waste of a spot.

 

Matt intensifies his campaign efforts, garnering Lisa's support and trying to persuade Quinn. In the Diary Room, Quinn admits he wants Matt gone but notes that his alliance, The Collective, hasn't met since Angela exposed them. Matt's desperation leads him to form an eight-person alliance called The Barbershop, though Cam and Brooklyn remain skeptical and prefer to evict him.

 

Later, Matt and Makensy flirt in the backyard, while inside, Lisa refuses to commit her vote to keep Kimo. Kimo grows frustrated with the uncertainty, feeling at risk of eviction and needing to win the A.I. Arena. T'Kor and Brooklyn both encourage him, but their words do little to lift his spirits.

 

In the kitchen, Angela explodes with disappointment in Kenney, who has seemingly given up on the game and will not fight to make sure Matt does not win the AI Arena battle. She fumes at his lack of effort, while Quinn and the other HG remain silent but astonished.

 

Kimo, Kenny, and Matt gather for the A.I. Arena competition called "Glitch in the System," where they must identify the houseguest who appears the most on multiple digital screens around the perimeter of the room. With two minutes to review 16 videos playing on screens, the players make their choices, and Kimo emerges victorious, guessing correctly that Quinn appeared the most. 

 

Julie Chen Moonves announces Kimo's win and that he has removed himself from the chopping block, causing Angela to scream with joy, knowing one of her enemies will be evicted. Matt and Kenney have 60 seconds to campaign but refuse to campaign against each other, both expressing their desire to stay in the game. Julie Chen Moonves repeatedly suggests they hold private meetings in the time they have but they instead start their eviction plea speeches. Kenny gives shout outs to his family and Matt forgives Angela, despite her not seeking forgiveness, which prompts an eye roll from her.

 

• Votes to Evict Matt: Kimo, T'Kor, Brooklyn, Rubina, Quinn, Cam, Tucker, Joseph.

 

• Votes to Evict Kenney: Lisa, Makensy, Leah.

 

By a vote of 8-3, Matt is the first HG evicted from the Big Brother house. Makensy breaks down in tears as Matt whispers something in her ear as he leaves to meet Julie for his exit interview.

 

In his interview, Matt reflects on his game play and his confusion over Angela's fixation on him. He expresses his gratitude for the experience and the opportunity to tell the story of his Filipino mother coming to the United States and discusses his plans to support his allies from outside the house. Matt tells Julie that his mother loves her because she was the first person she saw on TV when she came to America in 1993, the face of another Asian. When asked about what he said to Makensy, Matt says he told her this is just the beginning of their story, and he commits to finding her after the game is over.

 

In a BB first, Julie invites Matt to say her closing tag with her: Love one another.

 

Back in the house, Angela feels vindicated by Matt's eviction, while the remaining houseguests begin to strategize for the next HoH competition.
